| I lived in Grantown between 2004 & 2007 & for much of this time was a voluntary observer for the Met Office, taking daily observations at their site in the grounds of the care home. This was the site where -26.8 was recorded in Jan.1982. The recording equipment was removed following my departure. | I have recently set up a 'more advanced' outdoor weather Station as last winter we had an abundance of snow, including one day when we received a metre of snow, it was snowing at approx 6 inches per hour. My lowest temp recorded was Minus 25 C, I know that the UK record was in fact Granton on Spey which if I recall correctly was Minus 28.6 C. I will keep you informed this winter of any temps that break your record. Although I hope not as one is concerned with ones plumbing. Kind Regards Gareth Stevens |
